My skincare routine… where to begin? First of all I’m a little bit of a skincare junkie. I love skincare and I love to take the time to do a little extra for my skin. It is not always behaving as I want it to, but it’s important not to fall off the wagon. You only have one skin in your life so I believe it is worth looking after it. That doesn’t necessarily mean using a fortune on skincare. I find that many cheaper brands can be just as effective. I always try to find products without as much perfume or chemicals as I don’t think that is necessary in skincare. Some of my favorite brands include Glossier, Bioderma and Neal’s Yard.
In the morning my routine is fairly simple. First up, I cleanse with the Bioderma Sensibio H2O which I think is the most effective and gentle micellar water on the market (I have tried other from Simple, Embryolisse, Nivea etc.). Then I add a spritz of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir to give a little bit of extra moisture and glow to the face. I just find face mists so soothing and calming for my skin and mind and I’ve become a little obsessed with them. Then I use either the Bioderma Sensibio Light or the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. In the Spring and Summer months I make sure to use a good SPF 30 everyday as well. As a final touch I add a little bit of the Origins Ginzeng Refreshing Eye Cream (as the name suggests it is very refreshing) and some of the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm.
In the evening I, obviously, start by removing the makeup I might have been wearing during the day. Although, I make sure to have a makeup free day once in a while to let my skin breath. Again I use the Bioderma Micellar Water (definitely worth the hype). When my makeup is removed I use the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser to make sure my face is clean. A double cleanse is a great idea to make sure that all the dirt is removed from your pores. I use the Neal’s Yard Remedies Purifying Palmarosa Toner afterwards and it smells amazing. I almost have a calming effect making it perfect to use before bedtime. My serum at the moment is The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. It’s great whenever I’m battling with a few breakouts. Lastly, I use The Ordinary 100% Rosehip Oil and the lip balm from Nuxe to give my skin and lips a well deserved drink of moisture.
