A WARM WINTER WELCOME

These pictures were taken a couple of days ago when it was 11 degrees or so. Not very winterly at all but when you live somewhere where snow is a rare thing then you welcome the warm winter weather. I love the snow but hate the cold (unless you are inside bundled up in front of the fireplace).

One of my favorite Friday activities is to go to the Portobello Road Market. They have so many good stalls with vintage clothes and accessories. The last time I visited I came home with this shirt and I absolutely adore the print.

I know I say this every single time. Time flies by so fast and I just finished my first semester at London College of Fashion. You heard me. FIRST. I’ve decided to take another semester simply because I love it so much here. Of course I miss my family from time to time but so many things are happening here that I don’t give it to much of a thought. I am going home during Christmas though and I can’t wait to see all of my family and my beloved friends back at home.

I have been receiving a lot of messages lately asking for tips about London. I will do an in-dept guide soon or maybe a series of guides featuring the different areas.

Right now is the best time to go in to the woods to explore all the beautiful colors that nature has on offer. When the weather is as nice as it was this Monday I really enjoy walking in the parks. It always calms me down if I am a bit unsettled or stressed out.

Lately I haven’t been wearing much else than this khaki green sweater from Arket. It is incredibly soft, warm and cosy! The type of sweater you just want to snuggle into in front of the fireplace with a warm cup of tea in your hand. I found these somewhat matching tights when I went to Paris. I think it’s nice to wear something else than black tights for once.

A LONDON FASHION WEEK REFLECTION

It is already a week since fashion week ended here in London. Everything is so fast paced at the moment that I barely can keep up with it (in a good way though). I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Theo Vii Studio show. The collection was brilliant. Everything that I love from the loose fitted silhouettes to the soft blue tones and the creamy whites. I definitely believe it is a brand to keep an eye on.

When it comes to dressing for fashion week I always believe that what I wear should reflect who I am and how my style is. So I decided to combine all of my favorite elements. The mix of the colors and the different types of stripes really made me fall in love with the outfit. And of course I paired it with sneakers. These are actually quite new and I love them unbelievable much. The perfect pair for all the long walks we are doing whilst we stay in London.

IT’S TIME TO GET A SWEATER ON

…and I kind of love it. It is that time of the year again. The time where you want to snuggle up in a big jumper but at the same time get the post summer blues. I always feel that way in September. It is also the month where you feel the weather is really schizophrenic and you have absolutely no idea if you need a gigantic knit or if you can get away with bare legs. September is just an on going love-hate relationship.

It is also the time of the year when I can finally wear my beloved Acne Pistol boots again. It really is a classic and I wear them season upon season. The blazer is a new addition to my wardrobe as I bought it a couple up weeks ago. The perfect combination of two of my latest obsessions; red (and blue) and checks.

WEARING DOTS IN SOUTH WEST LONDON

Top Ganni// Jeans BDG// Sneakers Superga// Bag Céline// Necklace Jane Kønig

Yes another outfit that includes a black and white dotted top. I just want everything dotted at the moment. I have always loved dots (small dots, polka dots, all kinds of dots) but I haven’t really been wearing any up until now. The dots have made a great comeback at least on me (though a have seen them quite a bit on Instagram recently). This top I have been wearing without a bra (yes I have started to learn to embrace my rather small breasts and enjoyed that I can actually go braless without it being uncomfortable) and the material is so soft and nice.

Another great new discovery of mine is these jeans from BDG (Urban Outfitter’s jeans label). They are so comfortable it would be wrong of me not to mention them (and the price isn’t bad either). With their slight kick in the end they have a really flattering fit on the legs.

Today I have been ‘living’ in London for three weeks and honestly the time flies by so fast I almost can’t keep up with it. Only one week left to school starts. I am nervous, but mostly just excited. These pictures were shot this Sunday where we went to the farmer’s market in Parson’s Green and just chilled out with some good food (aka bread & humus) and a good book in the park (right now I am reading ‘Inside Vogue’ by Alexandra Shulman and I am really enjoying it).

The weather was nice and sunny and perfect for some light weight clothing. These silk trousers from Ganni have definitely been one of my best purchases this summer as they are perfect for those “in-between-days” where it isn’t cold but isn’t exactly boiling either. Paired with my beloved Adidas Stan Smith it was a match made in heaven as we were walking quite a bit.
