GETTING OUT OF A COMFORT ZONE

Sometimes you just need to challenge yourself and get out of a comfort zone. For me that comfort zone was taking pictures for my blog and Instagram account as I’ve done so many times before, but I thought I would try to up my content by adding video features as well. I’ll admit that it was really hard to begin with. It isn’t easy to get it right, but I’m actually really proud of the end result. Hopefully this won’t be the last video you’ll see from me. I promise to try to make it a regular thing on the blog. Enjoy!

CARAMEL CORDUROY

I’ll admit that I’m a bit (if not a lot) obsessed with corduroy this season. It is true 70s but it has hopefully come back to stay – for good. For me it mostly reminds me of my sweet grandpa who always used to put his long legs in a pair of high waisted corduroy trousers. Although I love a good pair of corduroy trousers I also enjoy the textile in other forms like this dress I bought in Cos recently. It has the perfect rich caramel colour and I think it goes really well with navy blue (my other big obsession).

Home is where the heart is and it has been wonderful to spend time with family and friends over the Christmas break. I am heading back to London next week and I am looking forward to it but it is also with a bit of sadness as it can be a bit tough to leave family and friends behind once again. I just need to remind myself of all the good things that are waiting to happen in London. New semester, new subjects, new people (and reunion with others). I hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

A WINE-BURGUNDY LOVE STORY

Bag A.P.C.

It was sort of love at first sight when I came across this beautiful wine-burgundy colored bag at my latest online shopping trip. I do love a bit of online shopping and it can sometimes be a bit of a weakness though a have to say that I am a very organized shopper who rarely do impulse buying. I am more the type who considers everything for too long until it’s all gone. This was no exception. I saw it online and debated with myself back and forth if I should really buy it. Then I saw a girl on the tube wearing this bag (and at this point I hadn’t even seen it in real life as I couldn’t find it in any stores across London) and then I just knew I had to click it home. A massive thank you to that girl as I truly love it!

HOT DAYS IN PARIS

As you probably have seen on Instagram (or red in my latest post) I took a girls trip to Paris last week. We had a wonderful time eating good food, taking long walks through the parks, seeing the sun set over the Seine, looking at art galleries in the Marais district and hitting all the beautiful French fashion stores (yes – I did definitely not go out empty handed). I’m planning on doing a full guide for Paris so stay tuned for that one!

Dress Sessùn

I bought this dress on sale in the small Sessùn store in the 6th Arrondissement. I haven’t actually heard much about the brand, but – oh boy – it surprised me. It has a bohemian vibe to it and lots of the clothes made me think about a urban country girl. The details and the quality is beautiful – which were the exact reason why I fell in love with this dress. Yes it’s ‘just’ black but the belt around the waist makes all the difference. It’s light and flowy (and you can wear it without a bra) and therefore perfect for some hot days in the city.

Another buy I’ve made in Paris was this blue striped skirt from Maje. Again a new brand to me (not all French brands is that easy to get hold of in Denmark). It ticks all the right boxes. Blue, striped and ruffled. What more is there to say?

Dress Ganni

Floral prints have not always been something I fancied but this summer it’s different. In general I think my style has evolved in a more feminine direction which I only see as a positive thing. Why shouldn’t I? Change can be good sometimes.

CHECKMATE

I’m massively into the Gingham trend at the moment. I’m not completely sure why though… I found this pair of trousers in the back of my closet, which I bought a couple of years ago. Finally they are getting some attention as they have (almost) never been worn.

JUMPING INTO SPRING

Knit Cos// Skirt Designers Remix// Boots Acne // Bag Céline

There is something about spring and skirts. It is just a bit more weather appropriate to wear them when the first signs of spring show (at least when we talk about the thin and flowy ones). This ruffled skirt, which I bought back in January (when it was still cold and miserable), has finally seen the daylight. As the ruffle trend is still going strong I know this is going to be a stable piece of mine this season.
